Beautiful is the word that comes to mind when recalling the church service in Esteio on Sunday, Oct 25th. The Presence of the Lord moved in on the very first song and continued to move throughout the rest of the service. You could watch and see the response of humble people as the Holy Ghost began to touch their hearts and challenge them into a deeper walk with God. The wonderful thing was you didn’t have to understand the language or know what was being said to feel the tug of the Holy Ghost. Tears poured down cheeks of the young and old while a humble bishop wept and prayed for his church.
The main theme of the service seemed to be about humbling yourself and drawing close to God so that he could cleanse and wash you and mould you into His image. The preaching only reinforced the message that had been presented during the worship. Bro. Lambeth so ably preached about the power of God and the necessity of drawing close to God and resisting the devil. With God on our side what is there to fear. The devil is not a power to fear or an attraction to be watched. The church must bind together behind their pastor and pray that the power of Jesus would be revealed. It is not a time for standing around and watching but a time for prayer and fasting.
The sweetness and humbleness of the church people is wonderful. You can feel the love of God through them and see it at work in them as they go about their daily lives. Their tenderness and response to the Word of God tells of their love for God and for their Bishop. God is truly at work in Brazil during these last days. Is it getting easier to resist the devil and do what is right? No, but, “If God be for us, who can be against us.” (Romans 8:31b KJV) |
