Visiting The Missions Field

I am a faithful financial supporter of the Apostolic Churches of Brazil, can I visit the mission field to see first-hand what is being accomplished with my offerings?

  • Yes, by all means! You are welcome to come and see first-hand what our labor of love has accomplished with your faithful offering!
  •

Does that mean that I can just get on the plane and show up tomorrow?

  • No!!! While we do not “spruce up” our missionary endeavor just to make “points” with our supporters (we have nothing to hide!), we do require compliance with our visitation policy before allowing a visit.
  •

Exactly what are rules of the visitation policy for first-time visitors?

  • We require at least two months of prior notice. Such a time frame will allow us to rework our missionary schedule, adjusting the workload accordingly. In other words, there are times and seasons that we cannot host visits due to multiple events and/or complex tasks. [Please remember, we may not be available to host your visit on requested dates. In that case, all we can say is “sorry!”.]
  • We also require of our first-time visitors a letter of recommendation from their Apostolic pastor. We certainly do not want to deal with “cold”, worldly visitors. The letter of recommendation will reassure us of your good standing in your local congregation.
  • If you have never visited Brazil before, we strongly suggest a stay of no more than 6 nights. The change of food types and major cultural issues are not easy things to deal with. We have learned that shorter stays seem to be less traumatic. Please rest assured, six days is ample time to see and absorb a lot! At the end of the visit you will be very tired, yet content!
  • We supply clean guest rooms and wonderful warm Lambeth hospitality. But our tight missionary budget does not allow for the day-to-day expenses of your visit. Because of our financial limitations, all food, sightseeing, purchases, tickets, travel fares, etc., will be of your sole responsibility.
  •

How many friends can I bring along?

  • The maximum allowed is four persons. With more than four visitors the logistics become much more difficult (especially when dealing with transportation issues).
  •

What if I have a larger group that wants to come?

  • We usually limit larger groups to special events during the year. For example, our International Apostolic Youth Conference (every year during April): ALL apostolic youth groups are welcome for that special conference (if you are willing to “rough it out”).
  •

What about Apostolic Preachers, Pastors and Bishops… do the same rules apply?

  • No, all Apostolic ministers are welcome at any time (just make sure we are home before come knocking at the front door).
  •

Are there any special rules of conduct while visiting the Apostolic Church of Brazil mission field?

  • We expect all visitors, of course to comply with our Apostolic dress code. Other than that we are just like any other Apostolic church. [We even allow full liberty with pictures and etc. We do not allow videoing, however.
  •

Can I start working on my travel plans right now?

  • You will need, of course, a valid passport (with at least six more months before expiration) and a tourist visa. So, before starting definite planning, please call (909-562-4083) or write jblambeth@gmail.com for more details about these legal travel requirements.
