While the Bible instructs us to adventure into His world of Faith through effectual prayers, the average Apostolic saint usually does not reach that level of faith. 

In reality, many sincere interceders often wilt in faith, thinking their prayers to be innocuous… all because they do not see instant results.

While we ALL desire (and pursue) “instant” results, it is evident that most of us discourage easily.  Then, as a secondary consequence, because of the lack of grand self-evident miracles, the “average” prayer warrior ceases to CHIP AWAY at demonic spiritual strongholds.  That saint then gives up… condemning himself to a shallow future of second-rate, lukewarm prayers.  Never again to attempt the powerful prayers of continual intercession!

While a single direct prayer may destroy a simple stronghold, such is not the case with ALL types of evil strongholds!  Some “kingdoms” only collapse after INSISTANT, continual prayers.  We all need to learn more about the tremendous power of “chipping” prayer! 

Pardon my deliberate redundancy: We usually cease and desist after a very short period of prayer!  And because of our superficial intercession, the problem continues to affront us with gleeful scorn.  We quickly walk away defeated, never realizing HOW CLOSE we were to total victory. 

Daniel “chipped away” for 21 days about a disturbing situation in the kingdom.  The Bible says he “was mourning three full weeks... ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in (his) mouth… till three weeks were fulfilled.” (Daniel 10:2, 3).  And would have continued in fasting and prayer had there not be a breakthrough!  Meanwhile, inside that same time frame, there was war in heavenly places! The answering angel said “from the first day… thy words were heard and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for one and twenty days…” (Daniel 10:12, 13).   

What if Daniel had QUIT his prayers for lack of expected “answers”?  You see, God won’t stop fighting your cause as long as you insist at chipping away the problem with your prayers.    

Be assured: ALL prayers are heard, but many go unanswered.  Why?  All because of spiritual discouragement!  Much like a boxing match, little is seen from the outside viewpoint as to how the punches are affecting (punishing) the opponent.  But if you could only look inside, you would see a lot of hurting pain in that serpent called the devil!  Every command “IN JESUS NAME” causes the devil to flinch and cringe.  But he will do all he can NOT to show the pain that your prayers are causing.  Your opponent is hoping that YOU will tire and desist!  

So, every time you “take a breather” in discouraging silence, you are giving you enemy a much needed “time-out” to recover his malicious strength. 

Pay no mind to the size of your problem… keep hitting him with your prayers!   

If you are blessed with a miracle with the first prayer… Hallelujah!    You know, like David.  But I wonder why he took four other stones to face the giant.  Perhaps David’s mindset was:  If one stone doesn’t do it, I will keep on slinging until I knock him down! 

To repeat once again: if the first round does not do the job… hit him again, and again, and again. 

Be like Jacob wresting that dark night: don’t let up until the answer is had!

Chip away, until the angel breaks through with YOUR MIRACLE!
